As an academic editor, I collaborate with authors throughout the writing process, assisting with the development and completion of articles and book projects. I received my PhD in American Studies from George Washington University and moved into the field of academic editing soon thereafter. As managing editor of the Journal of Popular Music Studies from 2013-2018, I gained a strong foundation in developmental editing, research, and copyediting.
My own scholarly interests include literature, popular music, ethnic studies, performance studies, gender studies, and cultural studies, but I work with clients on articles and book projects in a wide range of subject areas. I seek to support authors at all stages and take the anxiety out of the writing process. In addition to my editing work, I teach writing in the University Studies Department at Portland State University and the graduate program in Critical Studies at Pacific Northwest College of Art.
